Szechuan Empire North - Experience Authentic Szechuan Cuisine in Commerce Charter Township

A lot of unfair nasty reviews, so I want to leave a more realistic one. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Midwest. They have delicious vegetarian chicken, which is hard to find in the region. My mother has been order the ginger garlic chicken for some 25 years. They're going consistently in the area for at least 3 decades. My father likes the pad thai, but it's too sweet for me. You can't expect 100% full-flavor Chinese food, this is not NYC or LA, it is adapted to the long-standing US suburban palette-- blander, less spicy, cheap but fun fortune cookies... They are willing to modify the dishes. Prices are about 20% cheaper than east/west coasts. Service is direct, urban, no-nonsense. Thank you!

I’ve been there three times and I can’t stop ordering the Crispy Fish with the Special Sauce it’s so good. They also got some nice free hot tea. Very wholesome.

Absolutely delicious!!!! The ginger garlic brown sauce on the chicken broccoli is to die for. We drove 45 mins to eat here. I don’t understand the negative reviews … they are wrong. They do not know what to order. But no place is perfect so if you did have a bad experience just try it again and also go sit in the restaurant. We had such a wonderful experience. The older woman was so kind and we spilled water not once but 2s. 5kids and 2 adults. She also gave us a HUGE bowl of the ginger garlic sauce. We also got the shrimp and broccoli and almond chicken. 5/5 Thank you

Szechuan Empire North is my #1 pick for Chinese in the area. My whole family loves it too. Great business and people. The food is amazing every time. Generous portions and reasonably priced as well. They are the best. Highly recommend!

The only thing they didn't have was ice tea only pop and water. The Stir-fry almond chicken was delicious as was the spring roll and egg drop soup.

I’ve been here a couple times and for the most part I enjoy their food. I’ve only ever really ordered one or two dishes so it’s kind of hard to give a full review. I usually order the hunan chicken, which is really good and I tried their soups. Granted, the hot and sour was very different than others. I’ve had. It was more on the sour side and the wonton soup was good, but the big size only came with three wontons. Still would come again.

Best Chinese food in the area. No soggy fried meats. Get the orange beef.

My friend and I have been desperate to find good Chinese food in the area - we’ve been disappointed by the food at some others. I I have passed this place in the car all the time and we finally tried it - the general tso chicken was crisp, spicy, and delicious. The egg roll and crab Rangoon were crispy and flavorful. Loved the egg drop soup!! And my friend loves everything she got as well. We had an elderly woman greet us and get our food. She was kind, quick, and we were in and out with our food in 5 minutes. This is my new go to Chinese restaurant. So glad I tried it.
